The bridesmaids

My bridesmaids were my two younger sisters, Ella and Lucy, my close friend from University, Louise and my oldest friend Alex was my Maid of Honour. They each wore a different dress in a different colour! Ella wore a Lavender chiffon dress from Emma Bridals, Lucy wore a Mist-Blue chiffon knit Alfred Sung dress from Dessy Group, Louise wore a Maize – Yellow chiffon dress from Emma Bridal and Alex wore a Blush-Pink chiffon dress from Ronald Joyce.

The flowers

The wonderful Lorraine from Wild Orchid provided our flowers which were a real focal point. We asked for fluffy, romantic and rounded displays in the pastel colours of pink, blue, purple and yellow and she did a fantastic job in reading my mind and making our dream wedding flowers a reality! The flowers really were one of the highlights of my day, I didn’t put my bouquet down until the wedding breakfast and now I have it freeze dried and framed in a beautiful 3D display courtesy of Precious Petals, it’s a perfect reminder of our day.

The wedding breakfast

The caterers at the Sculpture Gallery served us our delicious wedding breakfast which consisted of: goats cheese and sunblushed tomato tart, corn fed roasted chicken breast with seasonal vegetables and trimmings, warm chocolate fondant with salted caramel ice cream and honeycomb pieces and petits fours. The food was beautifully presented and tasted amazing!

The cake

La Belle Cake Company made our cake which was a four tier ivory cake, decorated with iced beading and individually hand crafted sugar flowers in our pastel themed colours.  The flavours were bakewell, chocolate and lemon drizzle.

They danced to

A special mention must go to Lee Matthews who played the piano so beautifully when our guests arrived, during the reception and wedding breakfast and most importantly learnt and played a special request for my walk down the aisle which was to an Imagine Dragons song. Our evening entertainment was provided by the band Out of Control, who played a mixture of our favourite songs and our first dance; The One by Kodaline. They also provided an in between sets DJ service to keep everyone dancing throughout the evening.

How would you sum up your wedding at Woburn?

We had a perfect wedding at Woburn, everything was organised so well at the venue that we didn’t have to worry about a single thing. We had the dream Ian team on hand to keep us to time and most importantly to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. One of my favourite moments from the day was when we were outside, having photos in the midst of some bluebells in scorching 27 degree spring heat and Ian B clambered into long grass to hand us a glass of cold Pimms to keep us going. Every person we spoke to a Woburn was attentive, reassuring and made us feel completely at ease in what can be a very stressful time, planning a wedding!

Lastly, our photographers were Dan and Sarah from Two D Photography who were such an unexpected highlight of our day. Sarah was a very calming presence in the cottage whilst myself and the bridesmaids were getting ready, I didn’t even notice her taking photos but I’m so glad I didn’t as the candid shots are my favourites! Dan made our faces hurt from smiling and laughing all day. We had a special request to go and get some photos in the deer park which Dan was more than happy to assist with. The lighting and the setting for those photos was amazing and it was such a special moment to be away from everyone for a few minutes after the wedding breakfast, just Matt and I, to take the day in.
